INTEGRA Biosciences AG (Chur,Switzerland) a leading international manufacturer of innovative labtools for microbiology for over 20 years, has recently announced a new distribution agreement with Microbiology International (Frederick, MD) to further enhance its North American sales and support.

Microbiology International is a leading North American supplier of automated and manual instruments, rapid detection kits and consumable products for microbiology laboratories. As exclusive North American distributor for microbiology products, Microbiology International will, at ASM 2006 in Orlando (22nd-24th May), show and demonstrate on Booth 901 the latest versions of INTEGRA Biosciences' market leading MEDIAJET petri dish filler and MEDIACLAVE media steriliser product range. Microbiology International will enhance INTEGRA Biosciences growing level of sales into North America by providing informed local technical, service and marketing support.

The MEDIACLAVE is a highly safe and economical system for sterile preparation of media from 1 to 9 litres. The new generation system offers complete control and recording of all process parameters to guarantee a consistent validatable GLP record. Operated in conjunction with INTEGRA's recently launched MEDIAJET automated media filling system - up to 540 standard sized agar plates can be conveniently and cost effectively prepared in less than 2.5 hours.

The MEDIAJET and the new generation MEDIACLAVE expand the capabilities of laboratories involved with the sterilisation of microbiological media and production of agar plates. Initial response from the marketplace has been extremely positive with strong sales enabling INTEGRA Biosciences to report double-digit growth for the last fiscal year. Currently INTEGRA Biosciences has over 2000 petri dish filler and media steriliser units actively working in laboratories and production lines worldwide.
