Perfecting the connection between pipette and tip
Do your pipette tips ever loosen, leak or fall off? This is a common issue in laboratories, caused by the use of universal pipette tips. Universal tips require “hammering on” which stretches the shape of the pipette tip rim. The stretched pipette tip rim immediately starts moving back to its original shape, away from the tip cone. This can cause leaking, misaligned tips and even pipette tips that completely fall off the pipette!
This is why INTEGRA designed the pipettes together with GripTip pipette tips. Featuring a low attachment force and a low ejection force, GripTips effortlessly snap onto the tip fittings and are easily ejected. Also, GripTips feature a high lateral resistance once attached to the INTEGRA pipettes. This means GripTips are always firmly attached and perfectly aligned, regardless of how many side well touch offs are performed. You no longer have to hammer your pipette tips on or worry about pipette tips falling off!
How it works
By designing our GripTips in tandem with INTEGRA pipettes, we have created a unique, integrated system that offers the securest pipette tip connection. Without hammering, the GripTips snap onto the pipette’s tip fitting, which prevents tips from loosening, leaking or falling off.

The rim (3) of the GripTips will snap over the Multi-Lobes (1), attaching firmly. As a result, GripTips will never accidently fall off.
A shoulder (4) provides a positive stop to prevent over-tightening of the tip. It can only be attached up to that point and no further, ensuring that all tips are at the same height. As a result, the tip is either on or off, but nothing in between.
Low retention GripTip pipette tips
Viscous samples, detergents and other low surface tension liquids tend to interact with standard pipette tips forming a thin liquid film on the pipette tip inner wall. This effect leads to pipetting inaccuracy and inconsistency as well as loss of precious reagents. INTEGRA uses a unique polypropylene blend to mold Low Retention GripTips with heightened hydrophobic properties. Using Low Retention GripTips prevents low surface tension samples from spreading out and “wetting” the inner wall of the tips, allowing them to bead-up for a maximum liquid recovery.
Extended Length Design
INTEGRA’s GripTips feature an extended length design enabling easy access into labware types such as tubes and deep well blocks.
The extended length design also reduces PCR cross contamination as the elongated tip prevents the pipette shaft from contacting the wall of the PCR tubes.

The 384 fold configuration is highly space efficient and allows tip loading with a 16-channel pipette.
