INTEGRA introduces benchtop 1536-well pipetting

Most screening assays start in larger formats (96 – 384 well plates) before they are up-scaled to the 1536-well plate format. For assay development, fully automation robotic systems are often not the best choice because they are costly, typically complex to use and require long set-up times. In the assay development phase, when not as many plates need to be processed, a quickly adaptable and easy-to-use benchtop pipetting system offers a superior choice.

Pipetting into 1536 well plates is a task requiring accurate liquid handling and precise tip positioning. For optimal alignment of the pipetting head with the target 1536 well plate, the new plate holder is adjustable in front/back direction. The easy to use slide function of the plate holder shifts the 1536-well plate in order to have access to all 4 quadrants with a 384-channel pipetting head.

The VIAFLO 384 is fully compatible with GripTip pipette tips which provide a perfect seal every time and won't fall off during use. To enhance 1536-well pipetting performance, INTEGRA has developed a new 12.5 µl SHORT GripTip pipette tip. This tip was specifically designed for 1536 well pipetting and enables precise targeting of the small wells.
