Stefan is an Application Specialist at INTEGRA Biosciences. He holds a degree in interdisciplinary sciences from ETH Zurich and a PhD in molecular biology from the University of Zurich. During his studies, Stefan became fascinated by the interconnectivity of different sciences, with a focus on chemistry and biology. His passion for molecular biology and epigenetics throughout the final years of his master’s studies culminated in a decision to pursue a PhD in these fields. His PhD thesis was on the 3D genome architectures and nucleosome organization of embryonic stem cells during development. A large part of this work focused on finding and establishing protocols to understand complex biological problems. Equipped with this knowledge, he moved to the beautiful Graubünden region in Switzerland, where he now supports INTEGRA Biosciences in identifying field-based applications and adapting them for use on the company’s automated liquid handling platforms. In his free time, Stefan loves optimizing protocols in the kitchen while cooking or baking, finding patterns in the newest board games or recharging in the high peaks of the lovely Swiss Alps.
