INTEGRA is dedicated to sustainable science and making a lasting positive impact on the environment, and publicly committed to reducing corporate greenhouse gas emissions by joining the SBTi in September 2022. As part of this process, we are always looking for new ways to ensure our corporate carbon emissions are as low as possible, and this begins with innovative product design. The new AUTO rack GRIPTIPS pipette tips are designed for use with our benchtop platforms – the MINI 96, VIAFLO 96, VIAFLO 384 and ASSIST PLUS – complementing our popular ECO rack GRIPTIPS for handheld pipettes that were first launched in 2020.

Our AUTO racks have been assessed and certified as part of the My Green Lab^® ACT^® Ecolabel program. This program uses a science-based, 100-point scoring system to evaluate the energy use, materials, chemical hazards and end-of-life options associated with a product, providing transparent, third-party verified sustainability data.

The same trusted performance in a more environmentally friendly format

Our new AUTO racks deliver the same tried and trusted GRIPTIPS in a refillable format that reduces plastic waste by 43 percent. AUTO rack GRIPTIPS are available in 12.5, 125, 300 and 1,250 μl volumes, including 12.5 and 125 μl GRIPTIPS^® EF (enhanced fit) tips for reduced loading forces.

AUTO racks are used in combination with an autoclavable AUTO base – made from 75 percent recycled aluminum – to deliver a convenient, sturdy and sustainable pipetting experience. These reusable bases, which are fully recyclable at the end of their lifespan, are available in small and large sizes to accommodate AUTO rack GRIPTIPS in different volumes and formats. D­ONE AUTO bases designed specifically for workflows using the D-ONE single channel pipetting module in combination with AUTO racks are also available.

Reduced plastic consumption for a greener lab

Our AUTO racks have been carefully designed to reduce plastic consumption and support sustainability initiatives. Only the racks need to be replaced after use – the base can be reused indefinitely – and the AUTO racks can be stacked and compressed after use, reducing the amount of recycling container space required by 50 percent for a clutter-free working environment.

We’re proud of our efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet the goals we have agreed with the SBTi, which independently assesses and approves companies’ carbon reduction objectives according to strict criteria. AUTO racks are just the latest eco-friendly laboratory consumables in our product portfolio, as we continue our drive to reduce our corporate carbon emissions to the minimum level possible.
