INTEGRA Biosciences Corporation is an industry leader of innovative liquid handling products for the medical diagnostics, pharmaceutical, biotech, and food industries.  The NGS (Next Generation Sequencing) Sales Specialist role involves driving sales growth, fostering strategic partnerships, and delivering customer support to clients in genomic research, clinical diagnostics, and biotechnology. From pre-sale to post-sale activities, this position entails prospecting, conducting product demonstrations, installations, and trainings, as well as providing initial troubleshooting in the field. Additionally, the role involves channeling customer feedback to the product management and applications team to enhance products and address customer needs. 

Who is an ideal candidate for this role?

Someone with a deep understanding and experience in NGS technology and applications, such as a Scientist or Application Field Specialist, coupled with exceptional sales acumen and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a sales plan to achieve revenue targets and expand market share in the Americas, providing regular updates on pipeline status and market insights.
  • Generate sales opportunities through various channels, including networking, industry conferences, technical seminars, email campaigns, and warm calling.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Communications and Product Management to define new marketing strategies for lead generation.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as researchers, laboratory directors, and decision-makers.
  • Deliver engaging presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the features and benefits of NGS products, driving customer interest.
  • Manage the sales process, from opportunity identification to closure, while maintaining accurate records in the CRM system.
  • Test customer-specific scripts, install equipment, and provide product training tailored to customers' experimental needs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for post-sales activities, offering first-level technical support and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams, including application, technical support, sales, and customer service, to address customer concerns and enhance customer experience.
  • Collaborate with other members of the sales organization and field application specialists to explore and pursue business opportunities.
  • Stay updated on advancements in the NGS field, competitive offerings, and industry trends, providing customers with accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Partner with the application and product management teams to prioritize applications roadmap and protocol development and provide market intelligence and insights for product improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in molecular biology or related field; advanced degree (e.g., MS or PhD) preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in laboratory applications, including modern molecular biology techniques and NGS.
  • Strong technical acumen and understanding of NGS workflows and applications.
  • Commercial experience in the Life Sciences industry is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload effectively.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.

Travel

  • Extensively within the assigned territory, approximately 50-75% of which may include overnight stays. 
  • Clients are primarily in the San Francisco, CA and Boston, MA metro areas but territory is US & Canada.
