Spin column workflows require centrifugation between steps, multiple tube transfers, and can be difficult to automate. The Clean Blood & Tissue DNA Kit uses magnetic beads instead of columns to isolate high purity genomic DNA (gDNA) from blood, buffy coat, tissue and cultured cells – without centrifugation. The kit is compatible with manual workflows and INTEGRA automation for hands-free processing.

How it works

The Clean Blood & Tissue DNA Kit follows a 4 step workflow from sample to purified gDNA.

A 4 step DNA extraction workflow from blood using the Clean Blood & Tissue DNA Kit.
  1. Lysis: The sample is treated with a lysis buffer to break open cells, release nucleic acids and denature proteins and other impurities. Heating optimizes sample lysis.
  2. Binding: Magnetic beads are added to the lysate, where gDNA selectively binds to the bead surface in the presence of a binding buffer.
  3. Washing: Several wash steps remove proteins, salts and other contaminants, ensuring high gDNA purity.
  4. Elution: The purified gDNA is released from the magnetic beads into an elution buffer, ready for downstream use. Heating enhances sample elution.
